I liked the historical context and that there was no attempt, at least so far, to push religious views. enjoyed the pictures of the historical sites to place what was happening in my mind.

I keep getting advertising for this book from National Geographic and since it is an area of history that interests me, and the photos are so detailed I went onto Amazon to find it at a much better price and decided this one requires a complete sit-down word for word reading in the interest of understanding that time period better. So, I haven't read it yet. But it looks delicious. Along with a cup of tea.
